NARC/St Louis "Duty Rosters" for the 697th Engineer Company (Pipeline)
LT Stockman's 3rd 'Herd' Platoon heads for Korea!
697th Message Board
12/6/01
After making an announcment regarding Ron Renfro's photos of tank farm operation
in NKP,
and "The Road" photos in the Gallery, LT Stockman's remarks in an email to us all
gave me (yet) another idea on capturing some history .. publish them.
Especially coming from one of the company officers and well respected (and very quiet)
ones amongst us with sentiments that (I'm sure) we all share.
And, it gives me an extra opportunity to call upon all of you that have not yet
provided me with material to publish on each of you, as individuals! No
more "Thanksgiving turkey" excuses! No "Holiday Season" excuses!
Put your "thinking caps" on and let the memories flow ... Don't worry
about my mailbox, it can hold a lot of mail (and pictures) -- just ask Ron!
-- and, John!!! <bg> LT???

"Confessions of a Company Clerk ..."
I have fond memories of this young lady;
the closest I ever got to her was giving
her a ride home on the back of my 90 cc Yamaha ...
She made my job so much easier in the company orderly room - like the G.I.'s
having hootch girls to make their beds and shine their boots ...
I introduced her to G.I. humor and she taught me the Thai language
- never a "bad" word too! But, once in a while, I would get
on her "nerves," and she would say: "Ee-pee-ta-lei"
and I would wonder what it meant - she would never tell me ...
Later, after marrying a Thai woman, myself, I found out and <smiled>
as it was not so bad an expression, but then - I would say you didn't know
this young lady and how nothing foul would ever come out of her mouth,
if you (even) ever thought otherwise ...

p.s. Thanks - Ron, for the picture and the fond memories ...
