      I was in the Maintenance Platoon 

  and worked with heavy equipment mechanics

  and welders.  We repaired, rebuilt and 

  fabricated parts to keep equipment online.  

      My MOS was 44 -- 20, a Machinist.

I was drafted in October, 1966 and went to Fort Knox, Kentucky for Basic

Training.  After "Basic," I was reassigned two times in Virginia.  First

- Fort Lee; then Camp A.P. Hill.

In January, 1968, I arrived in Thailand - the best duty I ever had!
